The campaign is currently seeking a number of qualified individuals to join our staff in both paid and volunteer positions and work to elect Sam Granato as Utah's next U.S. Senator!
Campaign Management Intern
Location: Campaign Headquarters, Salt Lake City, Utah Stipend: Negotiated stipend awarded upon completion Date: Flexible, but July 1 through November 15 preferred.
Time Commitment: 2 months minimum - 5 month maximum 15-20 hours per week, majority during regular business hours
Summary of Position:
Looking for a Campaign Management Intern to work on a variety of tasks associated with the management of a federal Senate campaign. The intern will work with senior staff, but report directly to the Deputy Campaign Manager.
Duties may include (but are not limited to):
• Respond via phone or in writing to general constituent inquiries. • Conduct research on specific topics/issues as assigned by the management team; update the management team on evolving/pending federal legislation. • Assist staff with the planning and execution of targeted mailings. • Contact and schedule volunteers to participate in community events. • Provide support during campaign-related events.
Qualifications (some on-the-job training will be provided):
• Basic understanding of our political system and structure. • Willingness to travel throughout the state (overnight travel may be required). • Computer experience; PC and/or MAC, various software programs, and navigating the Internet. • Well-developed organizational skills and an attention to detail. • Strong problem solving, decision making, and time management skills. • Self-starter with a strong desire to learn and share your abilities and experiences with others. • Good written and verbal communication skills. • Must have own transportation.

Field Organizer Intern
Location: Campaign Headquarters, Salt Lake City, Utah Stipend: Negotiated stipend awarded upon completion Date: Flexible, but July 1 through November 15 preferred.
Time Commitment: 2 months minimum - 5 month maximum 15-20 hours per week, majority during regular business hours
Duties may include (but are not limited to):
• Attend and participate in weekly field organizing meetings to discuss strategy and tactics as part of the Field Organizing Intern Team. • Participate in lawn sign distribution, canvassing, voter registration drives and other field activities as needed. • Participate in calling campaigns as needed.

Communications Intern

Summary
Seeking a part-time intern to assist in communication efforts for a statewide political campaign. Intern will work closely with the communications director (as well as other senior staff members when necessary), performing essential auxiliary tasks and assisting in day-to-day campaign operations.
Duties may include (but are not limited to):
• Assisting senior campaign staff on various short- and long-term projects. • Conducting in-depth research on a variety of topics. • Corresponding with supporters, volunteers, and potential voters. • Drafting press releases, issue papers, blog posts and other campaign materials. • Compiling daily press clippings. • Assisting in the management of online and social networking tools. • Coordinating campaign events. • Miscellaneous office duties.
Qualifications (some on-the-job training will be provided):
• Extensive experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.), social networking tools (Facebook, Twitter, blog software, etc.), and be innately comfortable on the Web. • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and basic knowledge of HTML is a plus. • Previous communications or public/media relations experience is desirable, but not required. • Applicants should possess an interest in politics and current events. • Must be a self-starter with a desire to learn and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment. • Must be able to respond productively to constructive criticism, and work both independently and in group settings. Strong written and verbal communication skills are of the utmost importance.

Campaign Administrative Intern

Summary:
Sam Granato is the Democratic candidate for the United States Senate. His campaign is seeking a highly motivated intern to provide support to his senior staff, while reporting to the Campaign Administrative Manager.
Duties may include (but are not limited to):
• Maintaining and utilizing office filing system. • Assisting senior campaign staff with both short and long-term projects. • Monitoring office supplies and campaign inventory. • Running various errands. • Attending events with staff members. • Providing administrative support to other members of the staff.
Qualifications (some on the job training will be provided):

Event Management Intern
Location: Campaign Headquarters, Salt Lake City, Utah

Summary
The Sam Granato for United States Senate Campaign is looking for a part-time intern to support the efforts of campaign events and other activities. This internship provides a valuable introduction to event planning and campaign fundraising. Working in a small and supportive office environment, the Campaign and Special Events Intern will assist our team by helping with a variety of tasks associated with the operation of a federal Senate campaign.
Duties may include (but are not limited to):
• Contacting potential event hosts • Research of neighborhood events • Organization and updates of event calendar • Providing support during events • Conduct site visits • Helping to draft marketing materials, such as flyers and postcards • Providing support for event logistics and organization.
Intern will help with other administrative office duties as well, including donor solicitations, contact management, and publicity materials.
